Poche ore fa, nella tarda serata del 12 Novembre 2024, il Premier Beniamin Netanyahu ha rivolto un videomessaggio al popolo iraniano con il quale ha posto l’accento su un elemento della politica interna dell’Iran che, come tale, ci permette di validare le ragioni delle modalità con cui è stato condotto il recente attacco aereo delle Forze Armate israeliane evitando accuratamente di colpire centri nevralgici dell’economia del Paese quali gli impianti petroliferi ed i siti nucleari ufficialmente parte integrante del progetto energetico di Teheran.
Tanto si evince da un passaggio, in particolare, del suo breve, ma significativo discorso il cui testo riporto più oltre integralmente (accludendo il link al relativo video) in trascrizione: “C’è una cosa che il regime di Khamenei teme più di Israele. Siete voi, il popolo iraniano. Non perdete la speranza”.
Una frase, questa, che sicuramente verrà fatta passare per una, neppure tanto velata, minaccia, quando non addirittura per un segno di debolezza e di paura, in primo luogo proprio da coloro che in tutti i modi in Europa –prova ne sia quanto avvenuto ad Amsterdam– stanno cercando di usare il mai sopito antisemitismo continentale per volgerlo a proprio favore ammantandolo del falso pacifismo di chi in questi giorni a gran voce predica l’”intifada globale”, magari rispolverando il frasario del vetero–comunismo di quanti ancora mitizzano la cosiddetta lotta rivoluzionaria di quelli che furono gli “Anni di piombo”, e che proprio per questo ritengo colga pienamente nel segno nel momento in cui richiama l’attenzione sulla debolezza del regime iraniano.
Un regime traballante che punta a sfruttare un attacco massiccio di Israele per compattare il Paese e consolidare il proprio potere (un po’ come accadde a Stalin grazie all’attacco tedesco ai tempi del II Conflitto Mondiale): un qualcosa che consentirebbe ai conservatori iraniani ed ai Pasdaran di colpire i movimenti riformisti e quanti auspicano un cambio di rotta in senso democratico della vita politica dell’Iran, di tradimento e collusione con il nemico.
I prossimi giorni e le prossime manifestazioni di piazza saranno alquanto illuminanti per capire quale piega prenderanno gli eventi in quanto ho motivo di ritenere che le violenze di cui sono stati fatti oggetto in questi giorni diversi appartenenti alle comunità ebraiche europee, —violenze che tutto lascia supporre possano ripetersi con maggiore forza e frequenza—, potrebbero prendere una piega tale da rivelarsi un vero e proprio boomerang proprio per gli agitatori jihadisti palesemente operanti dietro le quinte: ed il fatto che ‘qualcuno’ stia correndo questo rischio è di per sé un indicatore delle difficoltà in cui si sta dibattendo il regime iraniano che credo sia attualmente più preoccupato della propria sorte che del destino dei Palestinesi la cui causa dichiara a gran voce essere il motore di cotanta intraprendenza sul piano militare.

“Qualche settimana fa ho parlato direttamente al popolo iraniano. Milioni di persone in tutto il mondo e milioni nello stesso Iran hanno visto quel video. E dopo averlo visto, molti iraniani si sono rivolti a Israele. Oggi, quindi, voglio rivolgermi ancora una volta al popolo iraniano.
Dall’ultima volta che abbiamo parlato, il regime di Khamenei ha lanciato centinaia di missili balistici contro il mio Paese, Israele. Mi chiedo: Vi ha detto quanto è costato quell’attacco? Beh, non sto tirando a indovinare. È di 2,3 miliardi di dollari. Questo è quanto del vostro prezioso denaro hanno sprecato in attacchi inutili.
I missili hanno fatto danni marginali a Israele, ma che danni hanno fatto a voi? Quella somma avrebbe potuto aggiungere miliardi al vostro budget per i trasporti. Avrebbe potuto aggiungere miliardi al vostro budget per l’istruzione.
Invece, Khamenei ha esposto la brutalità del regime e ha messo il mondo contro il vostro Paese. Vi ha derubato del denaro che avrebbe dovuto essere vostro.
Voglio che immaginiate – solo immaginare – come potrebbe essere diversa la vostra vita se l’Iran fosse libero. Potreste dire la vostra opinione senza paura. Potreste fare una battuta senza chiedervi se sareste portati nella prigione di Evin. Chiudete gli occhi. Immaginate i volti dei vostri figli, belle anime innocenti. Pensate all’infinito potenziale che avrebbero. Hanno tutta la vita davanti.
Immaginate come sarebbe la vita dei vostri figli se miliardi di dollari venissero investiti su di loro invece di essere sprecati in guerre che non possono essere vinte. Riceverebbero un’istruzione di livello mondiale. Voi ricevereste strade bellissime. Ospedali avanzati. Acqua pulita. Israele ha il sistema di desalinizzazione più avanzato del mondo e noi saremmo felici di aiutare a ricostruire le infrastrutture idriche iraniane che stanno crollando. Queste e molte altre sono le cose che potreste avere.
Ma è quello che il regime di Khamenei vi nega ogni giorno. Sono ossessionati dalla distruzione di Israele, piuttosto che dalla costruzione dell’Iran. Che peccato.
Un altro attacco a Israele non farebbe altro che paralizzare l’economia iraniana. Vi priverebbe di molti altri miliardi di dollari. So che non volete questa guerra. Nemmeno io la voglio. Il popolo di Israele non vuole questa guerra. C’è una sola forza che mette in grave pericolo la vostra famiglia: i tiranni di Teheran. È tutto.
Ma c’è anche una buona notizia. Ogni giorno quel regime si indebolisce. Ogni giorno, Israele diventa più forte. Il mondo ha visto solo una frazione della nostra potenza.
Eppure c’è una cosa che il regime di Khamenei teme più di Israele. Sapete qual è? Siete voi, il popolo iraniano. Ecco perché spendono così tanto tempo e denaro per cercare di schiacciare le vostre speranze e frenare i vostri sogni.
Ebbene, io vi dico questo: non lasciate morire i vostri sogni. Sento i sussurri: Donne, Vita, Libertà.
Zan, Zendegi, Azadi.
Non perdete la speranza. E sappiate che Israele e gli altri paesi del mondo libero sono al vostro fianco.
Il regime vuole distruggere il vostro futuro come cerca di distruggere il nostro Stato. Noi non lo permetteremo. Non ho dubbi che un giorno, in un Iran libero, israeliani e iraniani costruiranno insieme un futuro di prosperità e pace.
Questo è il futuro che Israele merita. Questo è il futuro che l’Iran merita. Insieme, trasformiamo questo bellissimo sogno in realtà”.

P.M. BENJAMIN NETANYAHU SPEAKS TO THE IRANIAN PEOPLE: A NEW SCENARIO?
A few hours ago, in the late evening of Nov. 12, 2024, PM Benjamin Netanyahu addressed a video message to the Iranian people in which he emphasized an element of Iran’s domestic politics that, as such, allows us to validate the reasons for the manner in which the recent airstrike by the Israeli Armed Forces was conducted by carefully avoiding hitting such nerve centers of the country’s economy as oil facilities and nuclear sites officially an integral part of Tehran’s energy project.
So much is clear from one passage, in particular, of his brief but significant speech, the text of which I quote below in full (enclosing the link to the relevant video) in transcript: “There is one thing the Khamenei regime fears more than Israel. It is you, the Iranian people. Do not lose hope.”
A phrase, this one, that will surely be passed off as a, not even so veiled, threat, when not even as a sign of weakness and fear, first and foremost by precisely those who in every way in Europe -evidence of this is what happened in Amsterdam- are trying to use the never dormant continental anti-Semitism to turn it to their favor by cloaking it in the false pacifism of those who these days loudly preach the “global intifada.” perhaps dusting off the phrasing of the vetero-communism of those who still mythologize the so-called revolutionary struggle of what were the “Years of Lead,” and that is precisely why I think it fully hits the mark as it draws attention to the weakness of the Iranian regime.
A shaky regime that aims to take advantage of a massive attack by Israel to compact the country and consolidate its power (a bit like what happened to Stalin thanks to the German attack at the time of World War II): something that would allow Iranian conservatives and the Pasdaran to strike at reformist movements and those who hope for a change of course in a democratic direction in Iran’s political life, of betrayal and collusion with the enemy.
The next few days and the upcoming street demonstrations will be quite enlightening as to what turn of events will take as I have reason to believe that the violence that several members of the European Jewish communities have been subjected to in recent days,-violence that everything suggests could be repeated with greater force and frequency-, could take such a turn as to prove a real boomerang for the very jihadist agitators evidently operating behind the scenes: and the fact that ‘someone’ is taking this risk is in itself an indicator of the difficulties in which the Iranian regime is struggling, which I believe is currently more concerned with its own fate than with the fate of the Palestinians whose cause it loudly declares to be the driving force behind so much military enterprise.

“A few weeks ago, I spoke directly to the people of Iran. Millions of people around the world, millions in Iran itself saw that video. And after they saw it, many Iranians reached out to Israel. So today, I want to once again address the people of Iran.
Since we last spoke, the Khamenei regime launched hundreds of ballistic missiles at my country, Israel. I wonder: Did he tell you how much that attack cost? Well, I’m not guessing. It’s $2.3 billion. That’s how much of your precious money they wasted on futile attacks.
The missiles did marginal damage to Israel, but what damage did they do to you? That sum could have added billions to your transportation budget. It could have added billions to your education budget.
But instead, Khamenei exposed the regime’s brutality and turned the world against your country. He robbed you of money that should have been yours.
I want you to imagine – just imagine – how your life could be different if Iran was free. You could speak your mind without fear. You could make a joke without wondering if you’d be carted off to Evin prison. Close your eyes. Picture the faces of your children – beautiful innocent souls. Think of the endless potential they would have. Their entire lives are ahead of them.
Imagine how your children’s lives would look if billions of dollars were invested in them instead of being wasted on wars that can’t be won. They would receive world class education. You would receive beautiful roads. Advanced hospitals. Clean water. You know, Israel has the world’s most advanced desalination system and we’d be happy to help rebuild Iran’s collapsing water infrastructure. These and so many other things are the things that you could have.
But that’s what Khamenei’s regime denies you every single day. They obsess about destroying Israel, rather than about building Iran. What a shame.
Another attack on Israel would simply cripple Iran’s economy. It would rob you of many more billions of dollars. I know that you don’t want this war. I don’t want this war either. The people of Israel don’t want this war. There is one force putting your family in grave danger: the tyrants of Tehran. That’s it.
But there is also good news. Every day, that regime gets weaker. Every day, Israel gets stronger. The world has seen but a fraction of our power.
Yet there’s one thing Khamenei’s regime fears more than Israel. You know what it is? It’s you – the people of Iran. That’s why they spend so much time and money trying to crush your hopes and curb your dreams.
Well, I say to you this: don’t let your dreams die. I hear the whispers: Women, Life, Freedom.

Don’t lose hope. And know that Israel and others in the free world stand with you.
The regime wants to destroy your future as they seek to destroy our state. Well, we won’t let that happen. I have no doubt that one day in a free Iran, Israelis and Iranians will build together a future of prosperity and peace
That is the future Israel deserves. That is the future Iran deserves. Together, let us turn this beautiful dream into a reality”.
