LA LEADERSHIP DELLA E.U. ALLO SBANDO:L’AUTOGOL DELLA GREEN REVOLUTION

0

E.U. LEADERSHIP IN DISARRAY: THE GREEN REVOLUTION’S OWN GOAL

From an interesting article by Floran Maussion that appeared in the French newspaper Les Echos on April 15, 2024 with the significant headline “Tesla va supprimer 10 % de ses effectifs dans le monde” (Tesla will cut 10 % of its worldwide workforce, which at the end of 2023 numbered 143.173 units) we learn how, faced -along with its competitors- with the erosion of the growth of sales of electric vehicles (in early April this year Tesla recorded a drop in deliveries of 8.5%, the first since 2020) the American manufacturer Elon Musk is preparing to cut about 14,000 jobs (actually the cut according to what Bloomberg reported will concern “more than 10%”): a measure announced to employees by the CEO of the famous car manufacturer himself.

The news had been in the air for some time as Elon Musk has constantly announced the coming storm in recent months-a storm that is now, as Floran Maussion wrote, over that Tesla was already in January, as stated by Elon Musk himself was “between two waves of growth” and that the next one would not occur until next year.

Tesla’s efforts throughout last year to tackle the total price war against Chinese competition, which enabled it to sustain its revenue growth at the expense of its margin, was not enough to cope with the production tsunami from the Dragon, which can easily play on not only lower production costs due to lower labor costs, but also the availability in large quantities of the materials essential for making the cars and the necessary batteries.

Not to mention also the much more favorable cost of the energy needed for the production of the cars in question (energy that is produced, blatantly disregarding the constraints imposed by green regulations enacted in Europe and the U.S., by employing, for example, the numerous coal-fired power plants that exist and are under construction), as well as the undoubted advantage of using automated production systems based on artificial intelligence that, in addition to ensuring excellent production and quality standards, confer greater versatility in the use of the plants themselves, given that -for example- a drop in demand in the case of automated plants can be preceded by putting them on standby for the necessary time without aggravations derived from maintaining in place labor contracts with de facto unproductive workers in deference to legislation regarding labor protection.

As authoritative experts, including Patrick Pascal, former ambassador and president of the ALSTOM Group in Moscow for Russia, Ukraine and Belarus as well as founder and president of Perspectives Europe-Monde, have observed and suggested, “in the face of devastating competition (NB: it is easier to produce electric vehicles than internal combustion; European manufacturers excel at the latter), we should not abandon internal combustion altogether, which would be suicide. Hybrids are a good compromise, and a sustainable diversification of the range is highly desirable” so that “The ecological argument for whole-electricity has to be more than nuanced: considerable amounts of lithium have to be extracted for batteries, which can be harmful to the environment; how will the considerable electricity needs be met? Could we use coal-fired power plants, as in China, which is already the world’s biggest polluter, well ahead of the United States?”

This is not to mention the fact that the cost of electric vehicles is on average 10.000 EUR higher than that of gasoline or hybrid cars, as well as of the fact that that of long-range vehicles will be unaffordable for most people, of the fact that state-subsidized green bonuses have been reduced if not cut, of the fact that the price of electric charging, already rising sharply, will necessarily have to increase to levels equal if not greater than current levels concerning fuels for internal combustion engines at the time when the disappearance of endothermic engines, unknowingly predicted for 2035, will mean that electricity needs will have to be met by completely rewiring the entire suburban and urban electric grid to make it suitable to support the required amperages: something that will require investment by manufacturing and distribution companies of such proportions that it will result in an obvious heavy spillover effect on prices on tap.

As the aforementioned Patrick Pascal pointed out, “This is a very important issue for European economies, especially for the excellent German manufacturers (or Fiat and others), whose exceptional expertise in combustion vehicles-which, by the way, pollute less and less-is being cancelled out by Chinese competition. There were only VW cabs in Shanghai and soon there will be no more, because anyone can make electric cars.”

All these very interesting considerations, as well as the contraction of employment announced by Elon Mask, lead me to see confirmed what I hypothesized already a couple of years ago and which served as the premise for the writing and publication with a colleague at IBI World, in October 2022, of a booklet entitled “2035 Green deal – STOP endothermic engines- the major critical issues in a choice that promises to change the way we travel forever.”

What I noted at the time was that the green revolution promoted by the EU leadership was really just a ploy to force private individuals to inject money at zero cost (since the whole thing was based on the forced stimulus to use their savings) into the production system of the EU countries to help the economies of the member countries from collapsing under the weight of their debts.

The emergence of the problems highlighted above is an exceedingly tangible sign that the financial bubble created by this insane economic planning is beginning to show signs of stress that will invariably lead to its bursting due to the blatant unsustainability of the project, a bubble of enormous proportions even more heightened by the financial exposure of those who have invested their capital in the atypical securities (derivatives) sector to such Green Deal related for the usual speculative purposes.

In short, in light of the facts, the Ecological Revolution, as hypothesized and pursued, is destined, barring second thoughts, to ensure that, since our production system is unable to compete with China’s, the capital pulled out of the pockets of European citizens will end up financing China’s economic growth, contributing in no small part to making it face and solve the liquidity crisis afflicting it and remedy pro tempore its inability to stimulate domestic demand.

So much for not mentioning the fact that with this wicked economic management, which in recent times has also taken our real estate sector into consideration and of which the economic leadership of the European Union, starting with those of the European Commission and ending with those of the European Parliament, boast so much, the EU will soon contribute to putting Beijing in the optimal conditions necessary for it to carry out its geostrategic projects as well as its rearmament, with all that can follow from that.

It comes to say that if the goal was to make Europe third world, a better way could not have been taken.
